Sunshine is something we all look forward to during those cold winter months. But did you know that the UV rays from the sun are potentially damaging no matter what the weather?
Sun Protection Times
With Australia having the highest skin cancer incident rate in the world, it made sense to identify the times when being out in the sun is the most risky to lower our skin cancer rate.
Perth is part of a nationwide public service where UV and Sun Protection Times are given every day to tell you when you will need to seek protection from the sun.
The day is broken down into hourly periods and ranked on a UV index ranging from low (0-2), where you will not usually require skin protection unless you are outside for an extended period of time, to extreme (11+) when you should avoid the sun or use many skin protection measures.
Sunsmart 5 Steps
The Cancer Society of Australia also recommends that you follow 5 steps to be Sunsmart which include wearing:
- Protective clothing
- Sunscreen
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Seeking shade where you can.
Outdoor Blinds
As we head closer to summer, the warmer sunnier weather is already upon us. Our outdoor blinds are an excellent way to cut the sun’s rays while still enjoying your outdoor living spaces.
Please contact us today for a no obligation free quote. We’re located south of the river in O’Connor but have been installing blinds all over Perth for many years.
