Cottesloe is home to many impressively large homes, including one which has recently had an A$12 million dollar makeover (in 2015). That’s an expensive reno by anyone’s standards. Le Fanu, originally built as a home for the first general manager of the Bank of WA, has now been restored by its new owners for use as a holiday home.
18 Month Transformation
Zorzi Builders, who won the contract to renovate the 120 year old cottage, completed the job within an impressive 18 months. When they started, the cottage was completely derelict with holes in the floors, collapsing walls and home to snakes, birds and rats.
Careful Restoration
With many of Le Fanu’s original features still present in the home, expert tradespeople were able to restore them to their original condition for use within the home.
Marble was used prominently throughout the property and the owners wanted to ensure that the impressive sea view was made the most if when planning and designing this renovation.
High Class Home Restoration Complete
This impressive heritage building will last at least another 120 years because of this renovation, according to Zorzi Builders’ business development manager David Reynolds.
A & A Plastic Strip Curtains
An amazing job! We’ve installed our outdoor blinds on another large heritage home on Marine Parade, Cottesloe. We do feel this renovation would be more complete with some modern Ziptrak blinds.
