No longer are office workers confined to sitting behind a desk. The newly invented Hamster Wheel Standing Desk has arrived! With experts agreeing that it is better to stand rather than sit at work, they have taken that one step further and are now saying we would be even more productive by walking as we work.
Who’s Responsible?
The Hamster Wheel Standing Desk was created in collaboration between Pier 9 Artist-in-Residence Robb Godshaw and Instructables Developer Will Doenlen. The wheel was constructed to the specific measurements of the test (hamster) pilot using plywood, two pipes and four skateboard wheels. It measures 80 inches in diameter with a 24 inch wide base.
Does It Have Brakes?
Taking only 24 hours to make, it doesn’t have any brakes as these would reduce the user’s productivity! Keeping walking and keep working, they say.
The work desk is placed within the wheel but not attached in any way. A user can happily work on their computer while walking and exercising at the same time. Also great for stopping those aches and pains you get when sitting for too long.
A & A Plastic Strip Curtains
A great idea but not sure it will catch on. I wonder if they do one for barbeques and ovens? I guess the main reason for one of these over a normal treadmill is you don’t need any power. Let’s see if they start popping up around Perth offices.
Another thing you don’t need power for and give years of satisfaction are our range of outdoor living area blinds. If you’re ready to fully utilise your home or commercial property, call us today on (08) 9331 5199. Or send an email inquiry.
